Trusted Advisor
We are Trusted Advisors. "Earning another person’s trust is a crucial, but complex, challenge, particularly if the prospective client is a stranger. The trust equation developed by Green et al. is a model with four variables: (Credibility plus Reliability plus Intimacy) divided by Self-Orientation. Credibility encompasses technical expertise, presentation abilities, and individual experience. Credible advisors are accurate and thorough; they can anticipate needs and offer insights about future scenarios. Reliability means linking promises with performance over time. Intimacy refers to the safety or security that is felt when entrusting someone with something. Self-Orientation refers to the focus of the person in question. Increasing the value of the factors in the numerator increases the value of trust. Increasing the value of the denominator—that is, Self-Orientation—decreases the value of trust. Since there is only one variable in the denominator and three in the numerator, the most important factor is Self-Orientation."
